Ingredients for Egyptian-Style Baked Rice
For the Rice:
- 2 cups of Egyptian rice.
- 1 cup of liquid milk.
- 1 cup of chicken broth.
- 2 tablespoons of cooking cream.
- ½ teaspoon of black pepper.
- 1 teaspoon of mixed spices.
- 1 teaspoon of salt.
- 1 tablespoon of ghee.
For the Meat:
- 200 grams of beef steak, cut into thin slices.
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- 1 small onion, finely chopped.
- ½ teaspoon of black pepper.
- ½ teaspoon of salt.
- 1 tablespoon of grape vinegar.
Preparation Method
Prepare the Rice:
- Wash the Egyptian rice thoroughly and soak it in drinking water for 15 minutes.
- Drain the rice and mix it with black pepper, mixed spices, and cooking cream. Stir well until the ingredients are fully combined.
- Place the rice mixture into a Pyrex baking dish and set aside.
Prepare the Meat:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a suitable pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until softened.
- Add the beef slices, black pepper, and salt. Stir occasionally until the meat is fully cooked.
- Remove the pan from heat and let the meat cool slightly. Add the grape vinegar and mix well.
Combine the Ingredients:
- In a saucepan, combine the milk, salt, and chicken broth. Heat the mixture over medium heat.
- Add the prepared meat slices to the liquid mixture and stir to combine.
- Pour the liquid mixture over the rice in the Pyrex dish. Place the dish over medium heat until the liquid begins to boil.

- Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F). Place the Pyrex dish in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the dish from the oven and brush the surface with ghee. Return it to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes until fully cooked and golden on top.
