Main Ingredients for Arugula and Capers Pizza:
- 3 ½ cups of flour
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 4 teaspoons of instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 ⅓ cups of lukewarm water
For the Pizza Sauce:
- 8 tablespoons of ready-made tomato sauce
- 10 cherry tomatoes, halved
- 2 tablespoons of coarsely chopped basil
- 2 tablespoons of capers
- 300 grams of mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 2 tablespoons of finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of coarsely chopped arugula
Preparation Method:
Preparing the Dough: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, olive oil, and water. Whisk the mixture for a few minutes using a hand whisk, then set it aside for 10 minutes until a foam forms on the surface.
In a large bowl, sift the flour and salt, mixing them well. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture. Mix slowly using the hand whisk, then knead the dough with your fingertips for about 3 minutes until it forms a smooth dough.
Sprinkle some flour in a large bowl, place the dough inside, sprinkle more flour on top, and cover it with a slightly damp cloth. Leave it in a warm place for 60 minutes until it doubles in size.
Shaping the Pizza: Divide the dough into four balls. Grease a baking tray with olive oil and sprinkle with flour. Take one dough ball, spread it on the tray, and top it with 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce, 5 cherry tomato halves, a bit of basil, ½ tablespoon of capers, and a quarter of the mozzarella slices. Sprinkle ½ tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese.
Baking the Pizza: Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F), place the tray on the middle rack, and bake for 10-12 minutes until the pizza is fully cooked and the cheese is melted.
Serving: Remove the pizza from the oven, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with fresh arugula leaves. Serve immediately while hot. Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.
Enjoy this delicious Arugula and Capers Pizza, hoping it adds a burst of flavor to your meal!
