Filling Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • ½ cup of sweet corn
  • 1 chopped onion
  • ½ cup of diced carrots
  • ½ cup of green peas
  • ½ kg of finely minced meat
  • ¼ teaspoon of mixed spices (Seven Spices)
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Potato Layer Ingredients:

  • 4 peeled and chopped potatoes
  • 1 liter of water
  • ¼ cup of liquid milk
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ cup of breadcrumbs
  • ¼ teaspoon of white pepper

How to Prepare Baked Potato Pie:

  1. Start by heating the vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden. Then, add the minced meat, sprinkle with mixed spices, salt, and cinnamon, and stir well until the meat is fully cooked and turns an even brown color.

  2. Add the diced carrots, peas, and corn, and continue to stir the mixture until the vegetables are cooked through. Then, turn off the heat.

  3. In a separate pot, boil the potatoes in water until they are soft and fully cooked.

  4. Mash the potatoes with butter until they form a smooth dough-like consistency. Add the milk, salt, and white pepper, and mix everything together well.

  5. In a deep Pyrex dish, spread a thin layer of mashed potatoes about 2 cm thick. Then, add the meat and vegetable mixture on top. Cover it with another flat layer of the remaining mashed potatoes.

  6. Sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly on top and gently press them into the potatoes using a flat spoon.

  7. Preheat the oven at a high temperature, then lower the heat slightly and place the dish inside. Bake until the pie turns golden brown.

  8. Once baked, cut the potato pie into evenly sized pieces.

  9. Serve a slice on a flat serving plate.
