  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • In a food processor, combine the baking powder, flour, sugar, and almonds. Blend on medium speed for about a minute until the almonds are finely ground.
    • Slowly add the melted butter through the opening of the processor, then gradually add the rose water until a crumbly dough forms.
    • If the dough holds together, there’s no need to add more rose water. If it remains crumbly, add more rose water in small amounts until the dough is cohesive.
    • Roll the dough on a floured surface and knead it until smooth. Place the dough in a large bowl, cover it with a cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rest for 60 minutes.
  2. Form the Sweets:

    • Divide the dough into small balls, then roll each ball into a thin disk.
    • Heat a skillet over high heat and place the dough disk on it for a few seconds, flipping it to cook both sides until golden.
    • Mix some flour with water in a bowl to create a glue-like paste. Lightly brush the dough disk with this mixture and roll it into a finger-like shape. Repeat until all the dough is used.
    • Cut each rolled piece into slices resembling a bird’s tongue.
  3. Fry the Sweets:

    • Heat the corn oil in a skillet.
    • In a large bowl, prepare a mixture of honey or syrup.
    • Fry the bird tongue slices in the hot oil, turning them until they achieve a golden color.
    • Once fried, dip the pieces into the honey or syrup mixture and coat them well.
  4. Serving:

    • Place the coated sweets on a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds or roasted nuts like pistachios or almonds.

Your Bird Tongue Sweets are now ready to be served! Enjoy these crispy, sweet treats as a delightful end to any meal.
