Caramel yogurt dessert is a delightful treat perfect for family gatherings and special occasions. It’s known for its rich flavor and eye-catching presentation, as well as its high calorie content, providing energy throughout the day. However, it’s recommended to enjoy it in moderation to avoid weight gain.
Ingredients:
First Layer:
- 1½ cups of crushed biscuits
- ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
- ½ cup melted butter
Second Layer:
- 1½ cups of yogurt
- 2 cups of powdered milk
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla (or powdered vanilla if not available)
- 2 tablespoons fine shredded coconut
Caramel Sauce:
- 1 cup of sugar
- ¼ cup of water
- ½ cup of heavy cream
Garnish:
- Chopped pistachios
Preparation:
First Layer:
- Mix the crushed biscuits with butter and cardamom in an oven-safe dish. Press the mixture firmly into the dish with your hands, then refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Second Layer:
- In a blender, mix the yogurt, powdered milk, sugar, vanilla, and shredded coconut. Pour the mixture over the prepared biscuit layer and level it with a spatula.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F), place the dish in the middle rack, and bake for about 5 minutes until the yogurt mixture sets. Then refrigerate the dish for 3 hours.
Caramel Sauce:
- In a saucepan, boil the sugar with water over medium heat until it turns a light caramel color. Remove from heat and stir in the cream until fully combined.
Serving:
- Pour the caramel sauce over the yogurt layer, sprinkle with chopped pistachios, and refrigerate until cooled. Serve chilled.
