Chicken Lasagna – Ingredients and Cooking Method
Chicken lasagna is a delicious variation of traditional lasagna, made with layers of pasta, cheese, sauce, and béchamel. Here's how to make this tasty dish with chicken.
Ingredients for Chicken Lasagna
For the Lasagna:
- 16 lasagna sheets
For the Filling:
- 3 chicken fillet breasts, cut into small cubes
- 3 carrots, grated or diced
- 1 green pepper, sliced lengthwise
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 can of mushrooms
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- ½ cup of water
- 2 tablespoons of oil or butter
- Salt to taste
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 tablespoon of sauce and spices
- 1½ cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
For the Béchamel Sauce:
- 2 cups of water
- 4 tablespoons of milk
- 4 tablespoons of flour
- Salt to taste
Cooking Method for Chicken Lasagna
Boil the Lasagna Sheets:
- In a rectangular pan, boil the lasagna sheets in water with a little oil, salt, and black pepper over low heat. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Prepare the Béchamel Sauce:
- Mix the béchamel ingredients and cook them over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens and heats through.
Prepare the Filling:
- Sauté the onion and garlic in oil, then add the chicken and spices. Stir well.
- Add the tomatoes, grated carrots, green pepper, and mushrooms, and cook over medium heat, stirring until the ingredients are fully cooked.
Assemble the Lasagna:
- In the same rectangular pan, place a layer of lasagna sheets at the bottom.
- Add a layer of the chicken filling, followed by a layer of béchamel sauce.
- Sprinkle a little shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Repeat the process, layering lasagna sheets, filling, and béchamel sauce until you finish. The last layer should be lasagna sheets topped with béchamel sauce and shredded cheese.
Bake:
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes until the lasagna is fully cooked and golden on top.
