Chocolate Cake Balls – How to Prepare Chocolate Cake Balls
Chocolate cake balls are among the most delicious and delightful desserts, perfect for serving at both adult and children's parties. They are not only known for their amazing taste and eye-catching appearance but are also easy to prepare and require little time and effort.
Main Ingredients for Chocolate Cake Balls:
Cake Ingredients:
- 2 cups of white flour
- 1 cup of liquid milk
- 4 large eggs
- ½ cup of melted butter
- 1½ cups of fine sugar
- 1 teaspoon of liquid vanilla
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 2 tablespoons of plain cocoa powder
Chocolate Coating Ingredients:
- 1 bar of white chocolate
- Plastic sticks
- A medium amount of chocolate sprinkles
- Parchment paper
How to Prepare Chocolate Cake Balls:
Prepare the Sponge Cake:
- In a large, deep bowl, add the sugar and melted butter. Using an electric whisk, mix for several minutes until you have a light yellow mixture.
- Gradually add the eggs while continuing to whisk, then add the vanilla and whisk again.
- Next, add the milk and blend for a few seconds to mix it with the other ingredients.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and plain cocoa powder, and continue whisking for 5 minutes until a smooth, uniform cake batter forms.
Bake the Cake:
- Pour the batter into a cake mold that has been greased with oil on all sides to prevent sticking after baking.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C, place the cake mold on the middle rack, and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- To check if the cake is fully baked, insert a wooden skewer into the center; if it comes out clean, the cake is done. If some batter sticks to the skewer, return the cake to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
Cool and Shape the Cake Balls:
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely. Once cooled, turn it out onto a large plate and crumble it using your fingers.
- Shape the crumbled cake into small balls using a small ice cream scoop to keep the sizes consistent.
- Arrange the cake balls on a tray lined with parchment paper. Cover them with aluminum foil and place them in the fridge for 20 minutes to firm up.
Prepare the Chocolate Coating:
- While the cake balls are chilling, melt the white chocolate bar. Place the chocolate in a wide bowl, add a tablespoon of sunflower oil, and microwave it until completely melted. Stir with a wide plastic spoon to ensure smoothness.
Assemble the Cake Balls:
- Dip the plastic sticks into the melted white chocolate first, then insert them into the chilled cake balls.
- Next, dip each cake ball into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. Immediately roll the coated balls in chocolate sprinkles to cover them entirely.
- Finally, return the cake balls to the fridge for 15 minutes to set before serving.
Enjoy these delightful chocolate cake balls, perfect for any gathering!
