Cream Cake is a type of sponge cake that can be served at family gatherings or in the morning alongside a cup of coffee.   • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1 ½ cups of melted butter
  • 3 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of liquid vanilla (if not available, you can use powdered vanilla)
  • 1 teaspoon of almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon of finely grated lemon zest

Preparation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Cake Pan:

    • Take a large cake pan with a hole in the middle and grease it with a little melted butter. Dust it with flour to prevent the cake from sticking after baking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, and nutmeg. Mix well with a large plastic spoon and set aside until needed.
  3. Cream the Butter and Sugar:

    • In a mixing bowl, add the melted butter and powdered sugar. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until you achieve a light yellow mixture.
  4. Add Eggs Gradually:

    • Gradually add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated. Continue this process until all the eggs are added.
  5. Add Flavors:

    • Mix in the vanilla extract, almond extract, and lemon zest.
  6. Combine with Dry Ingredients:

    • Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix for a few minutes until you get a somewhat smooth batter. Then, add the cream and blend for an additional 3 minutes until you have a smooth consistency.
  7. Bake the Cake:

    • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F) and place the cake pan on the middle rack. Bake for 115-120 minutes until the cake is fully cooked and has a light golden color.
  8. Cool and Serve:

    • Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Then, take it out of the pan, slice it, and serve immediately.
