Fried Chicken Kofta – Recipe and Preparation Method
Fried chicken kofta is known for its delicious taste and high nutritional value. It is easy to prepare and takes only 50 minutes to make. Ingredients for Fried Chicken Kofta:
- 2 medium onions, finely chopped
- Salt (to taste)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon dried coriander
- ½ teaspoon chicken spices
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 500 grams minced chicken breast
- ½ bunch of finely chopped parsley
- Vegetable oil (as needed)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup flour
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
Preparation Method:
Prepare the Onions:
- Press the chopped onions through a small sieve to remove excess liquid (keep the onion juice).
Mix Ingredients:
- In a suitable bowl, combine the onions with salt, onion powder, garlic powder, chicken spices, black pepper, and dried coriander. Mix well and let it sit for five minutes.
Blend Chicken:
- Place the minced chicken in a food processor and blend until finely minced.
Combine Mixtures:
- Add the onion mixture to the chicken, followed by the parsley. Blend until you get a suitable dough.
Adjust Consistency:
- Add the reserved onion juice and a little oil, and mix until combined.
Shape Kofta:
- Wet your hands slightly with water and shape the dough into kofta pieces. Place them in a suitable dish.
Prepare Egg Mixture:
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg with a bit of black pepper and salt until well combined.
Coat Kofta:
- Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with the egg mixture, and one with breadcrumbs. Dip each kofta piece first in flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs. Place the coated pieces aside.
Fry Kofta:
- Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a suitable pot over medium heat. Fry the kofta pieces, turning them until they are cooked and golden brown on all sides.
Drain Excess Oil:
- Remove the kofta from the oil and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Transfer to a serving dish.
