Garlic Shrimp – How to Cook Delicious Shrimp with Garlic

Garlic shrimp is one of my favorite recipes that can be prepared as an appetizer for the main course. My wife and I have been making this delicious shrimp dish for a few years, and the whole family loves it.

This dish takes only 10 minutes to prepare and no more than 5 minutes to cook, making it a quick and easy recipe that will take less than 15 minutes in total.

This recipe serves four people. If you need to make more, adjust the quantities accordingly.

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams (1/2 kg) medium-sized shrimp (also known as prawns), peeled, deveined, and uncooked
  • 45 grams wing seasoning mix
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 cup roughly chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 4 lemon slices for garnish (optional)

How to Prepare Garlic Shrimp:

Step 1: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Place the shrimp and wing seasoning mix in a plastic bag and shake until well coated.

Step 2: Heat the butter, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a large skillet over medium heat until the butter melts. Increase the heat to medium-high; when the butter starts to melt, add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook the shrimp, stirring, until bright pink on the outside and no longer translucent in the middle, about 4 to 5 minutes. Avoid overcooking to prevent the shrimp from becoming tough or burnt.

Step 3: Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the cilantro and lemon juice. Garnish with lemon slices and serve hot.
