- 1 onion, peeled and chopped
- ½ tablespoon salt (or to taste)
- ½ tablespoon ground black pepper
- ½ tablespoon ground nutmeg
- 2 bay leaves
How to Prepare Gratin Potato Casserole:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
Prepare the Cream Mixture: In a deep pot over medium heat, pour the cooking cream and add the chopped onion and bay leaves. Bring the mixture to a boil, then turn off the heat and set it aside to infuse for a few minutes.
Slice the Potatoes: Peel the potatoes and slice them into even, thin, circular slices.
Strain the Cream: Strain the cream mixture to remove the onions and bay leaves. Then, mix in the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and ground nutmeg into the cream.
