Ingredients for Italian Chocolate Biscotti:

Italian Chocolate Biscotti

  • 225 grams of softened butter
  • ½ tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ½ tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 whole egg
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • A small pinch of baking powder
  • A box of dark chocolate squares
  • Boiling water

How to Make Italian Chocolate Biscotti:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
Begin by placing 225 grams of softened butter, ½ tablespoon of powdered sugar, and ½ tablespoon of granulated sugar in a deep bowl. Use an electric mixer to blend them well until the mixture becomes creamy.

  2. Add the Eggs:
Next, add the 2 egg yolks and the whole egg. Continue mixing until all the ingredients are well combined. Gradually add the flour, baking powder, and vanilla extract to the mixture, and knead everything together until you achieve a firm dough.

  3. Shape the Biscotti:
Shape the dough into your desired forms, as seen in the image, and neatly arrange the biscotti on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the biscotti in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 10 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

  4. Melt the Chocolate:
While the biscotti is baking, fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Place the dark chocolate squares in a stainless steel bowl, and once the water is boiling, set the bowl of chocolate over the pot to melt it gently. Stir until the chocolate becomes smooth and creamy.

  5. Coat with Chocolate:
Once the biscotti has baked to a golden color, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Dip each piece into the melted chocolate, then let them cool completely.

  6. Serve:
Arrange the biscotti on a decorative plate and serve with a warm cup of tea or a coffee.

This is a fantastic recipe, and we hope you enjoy it! Buon appetito!
