Ingredients for Japanese Fried Rice:
- 2½ cups of high-quality rice.
- ½ cup of mixed bell peppers (red, green, and yellow), finely chopped.
- ¼ cup of carrots, diced and partially boiled (not fully cooked).
- ¼ cup of partially boiled peas.
- ¼ cup of corn kernels.
- Corn oil and soy sauce.
- 2 stalks of green onions, sliced thinly.
- 1 small onion, finely chopped.
- 3 garlic cloves, minced.
- 1 tablespoon of grated ginger (or 1½ tablespoons of ginger powder).
- Water, for boiling the rice.
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil.
- 1 teaspoon of salt and black pepper.
Method for Cooking Japanese Fried Rice:
Fry the Rice:
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok until hot. Add the rice and stir continuously until the rice turns golden brown.
Add the Onion:
- Stir in the finely chopped onion and sauté with the rice until the onion becomes soft and translucent.
Add Garlic and Ginger:
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for a minute. Then, add the grated ginger and continue stirring to combine the flavors.
Add Sesame Oil:
- Pour in the sesame oil and mix well to coat the rice and vegetables.
Add Vegetables:
- Now, add the mixed vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, peas, and corn) and stir-fry everything together.
Finish with Green Onions:
- Add the green onions at the end to preserve their vibrant color and freshness.
Season:
- Sprinkle the mixture with black pepper and salt, stirring to combine all the ingredients.
Cook the Rice:
- Add water to the pan to cook the rice fully. Stir in the soy sauce and mix well.
Simmer:
