Main Ingredients for Preparing Lunch Meat Pies:
For the Dough:

- 2 tablespoons of powdered milk
- 1 tablespoon of instant dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon of baking powder
- 2 teaspoons of oregano
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 cup of warm water
For the Filling:
- 1 packet of lunch meat (luncheon)
- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup of sliced olives
- ½ cup of pizza sauce
- 1 cup of fresh basil leaves
For Frying:
- A generous amount of sunflower oil
How to Prepare Lunch Meat Pies:
Prepare the Dough:
- In a stand mixer bowl, add 2½ cups of flour, powdered milk, instant yeast, salt, baking powder, oregano, and sugar. Attach the paddle and mix on medium speed for 1 minute to combine the ingredients.
- Gradually add the egg, then the oil and water, while keeping the mixer running on medium speed for several minutes until a smooth, soft dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, gradually add the remaining flour until the dough reaches the right consistency.
- Let the mixer run on low speed for an additional 2 minutes until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- Remove the dough from the mixer, place it in an oiled bowl, and cover tightly with plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place for 60 minutes until it doubles in size.
Shape the Dough:
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough with a rolling pin. Use a biscuit cutter to cut the dough into an even number of circles.
- Spread a small amount of pizza sauce on half of the dough circles, being careful to distribute it evenly. Place a slice of lunch meat on top, sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese, then add sliced olives and fresh basil leaves.
- Cover each prepared circle with another dough circle, sealing the edges well by pressing firmly to ensure the pies don’t open during frying.
Fry the Pies:
- Heat a generous amount of sunflower oil in a large pan over high heat until the oil is very hot.
- Fry the pies in batches, cooking them until they turn light golden on one side, then flip them over to cook the other side. Be careful not to burn them.
- Once done, remove the pies from the oil and place them on parchment paper to drain any excess oil.
Serve:
- Arrange the lunch meat pies on a serving plate and serve them hot.
Enjoy these delicious and crispy lunch meat pies with your family or guests!
