Millet Cake – Recipe and Preparation Method
Millet cake is considered one of the most delicious types of cake that can be prepared at home. Most of its ingredients are highly nutritious, especially millet flour and date paste. It is also easy to make, requiring only 25 minutes for preparation and an additional 35 minutes for baking. Therefore, we recommend that homemakers prepare it for their families from time to time, as everyone will enjoy its delicious taste regardless of their age. Ingredients for Millet Cake:
- 1 cup of powdered milk
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1.5 cups of millet flour
- Sugar (to taste)
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 1.5 cups of drinking water
- ½ cup of vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- Sesame seeds (to taste)
- Black seed (to taste)
- Pitted date paste (to taste, used for filling)
Preparation Method for Millet Cake:
In a blender, combine millet flour, powdered milk, all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Blend all the ingredients well until they are fully combined.
Pour in the drinking water and vegetable oil, mixing until you achieve a cohesive batter (it should be slightly thicker than regular cake batter).
Grease an appropriate baking pan with a little vegetable oil or butter. Spread half of the prepared cake batter evenly in the bottom of the pan.
Distribute the pitted date paste evenly over the batter.
Spread the remaining batter on top of the date paste, then sprinkle a suitable amount of sesame seeds and black seed over the surface.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Once it reaches the desired temperature, place the cake pan inside and bake until the cake is fully cooked (approximately 35 minutes).
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, cut it into pieces of your desired size and shape, and arrange the pieces on a suitable serving dish.
