Nugresco with meat is a highly delicious dish packed with nutritional value. It's also easy to prepare, taking about 75 minutes to make and cook. This recipe serves four people. Here's how to prepare this wonderful dish.

  • 1 tablespoon of ghee
  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • 250 grams of ground meat
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of mixed spices
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 medium-sized green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 100 grams of butter
  • 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • ½ liter of liquid milk
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons of grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 package of spaghetti (cooked according to the package instructions)

How to Prepare Nugresco with Meat:

  1. Prepare the Meat:

    • In a suitable pot, melt the ghee over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté, stirring occasionally, until it turns golden.
    • Add the ground meat, cinnamon stick, mixed spices, half of the black pepper, and half of the salt. Stir occasionally until the ingredients are well combined and the meat is fully cooked.
    • Add the chopped green bell pepper and continue to stir until the bell pepper is tender.
  2. Prepare the Béchamel Sauce:

    • In a separate pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir until it blends with the butter and turns a light golden color.
    • Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly, then add the remaining salt and black pepper.
    • Stir the sauce continuously until it thickens and becomes smooth. Add 2 tablespoons of mozzarella cheese and stir until the cheese melts.
  3. Assemble the Dish:

    • Grease the bottom of a Pyrex dish with a small amount of the béchamel sauce. Spread half of the cooked spaghetti over the sauce.
    • Sprinkle half a cup of grated mozzarella cheese on top of the spaghetti, followed by a layer of béchamel sauce.
    • Add the meat mixture over the béchamel layer, then spread the remaining spaghetti on top.
    • Finish by sprinkling the rest of the mozzarella cheese and covering it with the remaining béchamel sauce.
  4. Bake:

    • Preheat the oven to 180°C. Once heated, place the Pyrex dish in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the cheese melts and the top turns golden.
