Ingredients Needed to Make Oat Bread:

Oat Bread Like Bakery

  • ½ cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup ground oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp pure honey
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp yeast
  • 2 tbsp regular sugar
  • ¼ cup lukewarm water
  • A pinch or about ¼ tsp of table salt
  • A small amount of oats for garnish

How to Make Special Oat Bread:

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a deep bowl, mix the ground oats, whole wheat flour, and yeast. Pour in 1 cup of hot water and knead well. Add honey, vegetable oil, and salt, then knead again until well combined. Leave the dough to rest for a while to cool down slightly.

  2. Add the All-Purpose Flour: Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the dough, kneading continuously until the dough forms a smooth texture. Grease the dough with vegetable oil and cover it with plastic wrap or a clean cloth, allowing it to rise and double in size.

  3. Shape the Bread: Once the dough has risen, shape it into a long loaf similar to what you would buy from a bakery. Place the shaped dough on a baking tray. Lightly brush the top with some water and sprinkle oats over it for decoration.

  4. Second Rising: Cover the dough again and allow it to rise once more. After it has risen, make shallow slits on the top with a knife for that signature bakery look. Preheat the oven and place the dough inside.

  5. Bake: After about 15 minutes, check the bread by inserting a toothpick. If it comes out clean without any dough sticking to it, the bread is fully baked. Remove it from the oven.

  6. Serve: Serve the oat bread hot. If any bread remains, cover it with plastic wrap after it cools to keep it fresh. Place the bread in a decorative basket or plate and serve warm.

We hope you enjoy this healthy and delicious oat bread. Bon appétit!
