Risotto – How to Prepare Risotto
Risotto is a classic Italian dish that primarily consists of rice and a few simple ingredients. Here, we’ll show you how to cook this delicious dish, perfect for serving six people.
Ingredients for Risotto:
- 3 cups of water
- 2 cups of chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons of chopped mushrooms
- 1 cup of rice
- 100 ml of cooking cream
- 3 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- A little chopped parsley for garnish
Steps to Prepare Risotto:
Prepare the broth:
Place a pot on the stove and pour in 3 cups of water along with the 2 cups of chicken broth. Bring it to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer.Sauté the ingredients:
In a separate pot, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened. Then, add the chopped mushrooms and continue to sauté for a couple of minutes.Add the rice:
Add the washed rice to the onion and mushroom mixture, stirring to coat the rice with the butter. Continue stirring for a few minutes.Add the broth gradually:
Pour in about ⅓ cup of the broth mixture and stir until the rice absorbs the liquid. Continue adding the broth in increments, stirring constantly, until the rice absorbs the liquid each time. Repeat this process until all the broth is used and the rice is cooked. This should take about 20-30 minutes, and the rice should have a creamy consistency.Add cream and cheese:
Once the rice is fully cooked, stir in the cooking cream and 3 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add an additional tablespoon of butter for extra creaminess, and stir everything together.Serve the risotto:
Transfer the creamy risotto to a serving dish, and garnish with a sprinkle of chopped parsley.
