In this article, we will provide you with the ingredients enough for eight people along with the preparation method, hoping that you'll enjoy this special dish.
Ingredients for Soft Date-Filled Discs:
- 1 kg of white flour
- 2 tablespoons of white sugar
- 1 tablespoon of yeast
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 cups + 2 tablespoons of liquid milk
- ½ cup of ghee
- ½ cup of vegetable oil
- 2 cups of warm drinking water
- 500 grams of ground dates
How to Prepare Soft Date-Filled Discs:
In a deep and suitable bowl, mix the white flour, white sugar, salt, yeast, vegetable oil, and ghee. Combine the ingredients well using your hands until the flour absorbs the oil and ghee.
Add 2 cups of liquid milk and knead the ingredients thoroughly until they blend together. Then, gradually add the water while continuing to knead until you get a firm and soft dough that doesn’t stick to your hands.
Cover the dough with a cloth and leave it aside for 60 minutes to rise properly.
After it has risen, divide the dough into medium-sized balls, and do the same with the dates, shaping them into small balls that match the size of the dough balls.
Take a dough ball and flatten it using the palm of your hand, placing a small ball of dates in the center. Close the dough around the dates, forming a flat disc shape.
Repeat the previous steps until all the dough and date filling have been used.
Grease a suitable oven tray with a bit of oil, then arrange the soft discs in the tray.
Brush the top of the date discs with the remaining liquid milk (2 tablespoons).
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Once it reaches the desired temperature, place the tray in the oven and leave it until the discs are fully baked and take on a reddish color.
Remove the tray from the oven and allow the discs to cool before arranging them on a suitable serving plate.
And there you have it, soft date-filled discs ready to be served to family or guests, offering a delightful taste. Enjoy in good health!
