Al-Majouqa – Recipe for Al-Majouqa – How to Prepare Al-Majouqa

Al-Majouqa is a delicious and nutritious dish that's easy to prepare, requiring only 20 minutes for preparation and 20 minutes for cooking. This recipe serves four people, and we hope you enjoy this special meat dish.

Ingredients for Al-Majouqa:

Al-Majouqa

 

  • 500 grams of minced lamb.
  • Black pepper (to taste).
  • Salt (to taste).
  • 150 grams of lean meat (minced).
  • 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs.
  • Butter (as needed).
  • 1 egg.
  • 50 grams of pine nuts (for garnish).

For the Filling:

  • 250 grams of grated mozzarella cheese.
  • Crushed walnuts (as desired).
  • 2 red bell peppers, finely chopped.
  • 2 green bell peppers, finely chopped.
  • Chopped mushrooms (as desired).

How to Prepare Al-Majouqa:

  1. Prepare the Meat Mixture:
    In a large bowl, combine the minced lamb, lean meat, salt, breadcrumbs, egg, and black pepper. Mix all the ingredients well until fully combined.

  2. Grease a baking tray with a little butter and spread half of the meat mixture evenly on the bottom of the tray, forming a medium-thick layer.

  3. Prepare the Filling:
    In a separate bowl, mix the grated mozzarella cheese, crushed walnuts, chopped red and green bell peppers, and chopped mushrooms. Stir until well combined.

  4. Spread the filling evenly over the first layer of the meat mixture in the tray.

  5. Top with the Remaining Meat Mixture:
    Spread the remaining meat mixture on top of the filling, pressing it down gently to ensure it stays firm.

  6. Garnish the top with pine nuts (you can also use crushed walnuts if desired).

  7. Bake:
    Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Once heated, place the tray in the oven and bake until the meat is fully cooked and the top is golden brown.
