This recipe is easy to prepare and doesn’t take much time, serving up to 10 people.
Main Ingredients for Preparing Apple Cake:
Cake Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups of white flour
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon of baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of liquid vanilla (or powdered vanilla if not available)
- 1 ¼ cups of sugar
- 1 cup of milk
- ½ cup of sunflower oil
- 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

How to Prepare Apple Cake:
Step 1 – Preparing the Dry Ingredients:
In a deep bowl, sift the flour, then add the baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix all the ingredients together and set aside.
Step 2 – Mixing the Wet Ingredients:
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the eggs and vanilla using an electric mixer for about 5 minutes. Gradually add the sugar and continue whisking until the mixture becomes slightly thick and light in color. Then, add the milk and whisk until combined, followed by the oil. Whisk for another 2 minutes, and finally, add the apple cider vinegar.
Step 3 – Combining the Ingredients:
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and continue whisking at medium speed for about 3 minutes until you get a smooth batter.
Step 4 – Preparing the Cake Pan:
Grease a cake pan with a little butter and dust it with some flour, then set it aside.
Step 5 – Preparing the Apple Filling:
Peel the apples and grate them using the coarse side of a grater. Mix the grated apples with the powdered sugar and cinnamon until well combined.
Step 6 – Assembling the Cake:
Pour two-thirds of the cake batter into the prepared pan, then spread two-thirds of the apple mixture on top of the batter. Add the remaining batter on top, followed by the rest of the apple mixture, spreading it evenly over the surface.
Step 7 – Baking the Cake:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the cake pan on the middle rack of the oven and bake for about 45 minutes. To check if the cake is done, insert a thin wooden stick into the center; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. If not, bake for another 5 minutes, keeping an eye on it to avoid burning.
Step 8 – Cooling and Topping:
Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool completely. Then, sprinkle the top with powdered sugar and cinnamon for decoration.
