Basbousa is a popular and widely enjoyed dessert, especially in Egypt.   • 3 cups of shredded coconut
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons of baking powder
  • ½ cup of melted butter
  • 1 cup of liquid milk
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1 cup of cold syrup (simple sugar syrup)

Preparation Method for Basbousa:

  1. Prepare the Dry Ingredients:

    • In a medium-sized bowl, mix the shredded coconut, baking powder, flour, and white sugar together. Stir well until all the ingredients are combined.
  2. Prepare the Wet Ingredients:

    • In a separate bowl, mix the liquid milk, vanilla, and eggs. Whisk the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.
  3. Combine the Mixtures:

    • Add the melted butter to the milk and egg mixture, and continue stirring until everything is fully incorporated.
    • Gradually pour the liquid mixture into the dry ingredients (coconut mixture) and stir until a smooth, consistent batter forms.
  4. Prepare the Baking Pan:

    • Line a suitable baking tray with parchment paper and grease it lightly with butter. Spread the basbousa mixture evenly in the tray.
  5. Bake the Basbousa:
