Ingredients for Chicken Kofta:
4 chicken fillet pieces
1 teaspoon of salt
¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper
½ teaspoon of ground coriander
½ teaspoon of turmeric powder
½ teaspoon of ground cumin
2 tablespoons of flour
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
¼ cup of breadcrumbs
2 teaspoons of grated ginger
1 large egg
Ingredients for the Sauce:
2 tablespoons of melted butter
2 tablespoons of sunflower oil
2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon of grated fresh ginger
2 cloves of garlic, finely minced
2 cups of chicken broth
¼ teaspoon of salt
¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper
Preparation Steps for Chicken Kofta:
Prepare the Chicken Mixture:
- Start by finely grinding the chicken fillets in an electric grinder to achieve a smooth texture. Add the salt, pepper, coriander, cumin, flour, cornstarch, breadcrumbs, ginger, and egg. Mix the ingredients well with your fingers until you have a cohesive and smooth mixture.
Form the Kofta Balls:
- Shape the mixture into small, equal-sized balls.
Boil the Kofta Balls:
- In a deep pot, add 3 cups of warm water along with 1 teaspoon of grated ginger. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Add the kofta balls and let them boil for about 7 minutes until they firm up and turn a light golden color.
Drain the Kofta Balls:
- Remove the kofta balls from the water and place them on a paper towel to absorb any excess moisture.
Fry the Kofta Balls:
- In a skillet, heat the butter and sunflower oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the kofta balls and fry them until they are nicely browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Prepare the Ginger Sauce:
- In the same skillet, add the flour and stir continuously until it turns a deep golden color. Then, add the chicken broth, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir well and bring the mixture to a boil.
Combine Kofta with Sauce:
- Once the sauce has thickened, add the fried kofta balls into the sauce. Cover the skillet and let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes, allowing the kofta to absorb the ginger-flavored sauce.
Serve:
- Serve the chicken kofta alongside white rice for a complete meal.
Enjoy your delicious and nutritious Chicken Kofta!
