Main Ingredients for Chicken Popcorn:
- 4 chicken fillets
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
For the Coating:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon dried coriander
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons fine salt
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
For the Cheese Sauce:
- 100 grams blue cheese
- ¼ cup sour yogurt
- ½ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
How to Prepare Chicken Popcorn:
Prepare the Chicken: Start by cutting the chicken fillets into small, bite-sized cubes. In a deep bowl, whisk together the mustard and eggs using a hand whisk until well combined. Add the chicken pieces to the egg mixture, ensuring that all the chicken is well-coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Prepare the Coating: In another deep bowl, mix the flour, paprika, ginger, black pepper, salt, turmeric, and garlic powder. Stir the ingredients well until evenly combined.
Coat the Chicken: Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator. Take each piece and coat it thoroughly in the flour mixture, ensuring it's evenly covered.
Fry the Chicken: In a deep frying pan, heat sunflower oil over high heat until it is hot. Reduce the heat slightly and begin frying the chicken in batches, ensuring that you flip each piece regularly to cook evenly. Once the chicken pieces turn golden, remove them from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
Prepare the Cheese Sauce: In a blender, add the blue cheese, sour yogurt, sour cream, mayonnaise, parsley, oregano, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. Blend on medium speed for a few minutes until the sauce becomes smooth and light.
Serve: Place the crispy chicken popcorn in a serving dish, with the cheese sauce on the side for dipping.
Enjoy your delicious Chicken Popcorn served with the creamy cheese sauce!
