Ingredients for Chinese Beef with Broccoli:
- 700 grams of steak slices.
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch.
- ¼ cup of soy sauce.
- 6 teaspoons of butter.
- 700 grams of broccoli (separated into florets).
- ⅓ cup of water.
- 6 cloves of garlic.
- 1 tablespoon of ground ginger.
Ingredients for the Sauce:
- ¼ cup of oyster sauce.
- 1 tablespoon of white vinegar.
- 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar.
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar.
Method of Preparation:
Step 1: Marinating the Beef
Place the steak slices in a plastic bag. Add the soy sauce and cornstarch to the bag, seal it, and shake well until the ingredients are fully combined. Set the steak aside to marinate for 60 minutes.
Step 2: Preparing the Sauce
In a bowl, mix together the balsamic vinegar, white vinegar, brown sugar, and oyster sauce until the ingredients are well blended.
Step 3: Cooking the Beef (First Batch)
Heat 2 teaspoons of butter in a pan over medium heat. Add half of the steak slices and cook for one minute on each side, making sure the beef is browned but not fully cooked.
Remove the steak slices from the pan and place them in a covered dish. Discard any remaining liquids in the pan.
Step 4: Cooking the Beef (Second Batch)
Heat another 2 teaspoons of butter in the pan and repeat the process with the remaining steak slices.
Step 5: Cooking the Broccoli
In the same pan, melt the remaining 2 teaspoons of butter over medium heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir occasionally until they begin to soften.
Pour the water into the pan, reduce the heat to low, and cover the pan. Let the broccoli steam for about 2 minutes.
Step 6: Final Cooking
Uncover the pan and add the ground ginger and minced garlic. Stir everything together until well combined.
Add the cooked steak slices to the pan and pour the prepared sauce over the mixture. Stir well to coat everything in the sauce.
Increase the heat to medium and continue to stir until the sauce starts to boil and thicken.
Step 7: Serving
Once done, your Chinese beef with broccoli is ready to serve. You can enjoy it with a side of rice for a complete meal.
Bon appétit!
