Dream Cake, or "Cake of Dreams," is a delicious dessert loved by both adults and children due to its high sugar and chocolate content. This dessert is popular in many countries and takes about 20 minutes to prepare the ingredients and 40 minutes to bake. The recipe below serves four people.

Cake:

  • 1 egg
  • ⅔ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup corn oil
  • ½ teaspoon instant coffee (Nescafe)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot water

For the Syrup Layer:

  • ½ cup grated chocolate
  • ½ cup hot liquid cream
  • Sugar syrup as needed

For the Pudding:

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons grated chocolate
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Layer:

  • ½ cup grated chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon butter

How to Prepare Dream Cake:

  1. Prepare the Cake Batter: In a bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and powdered sugar. Set aside.
    Add ¼ cup of corn oil, ½ teaspoon of instant coffee, 1 egg, and vanilla extract. Stir continuously while adding the hot water gradually until all the ingredients are well combined.

  2. Bake the Cake: Grease a cake pan with a little corn oil, pour the batter into the pan, and place it in the oven preheated to 180°C (350°F). Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the cake is fully cooked. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool.

  3. Prepare the Syrup (Ganache): To make the syrup, place a bowl over another bowl of boiling water (double boiler method). Add the grated chocolate to the hot cream and stir until smooth. Spread this ganache evenly over the cooled cake and place the cake in the freezer.

  4. Prepare the Pudding: In a saucepan, mix together the cornstarch, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and a pinch of salt. Gradually add the milk and mix until smooth. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it thickens, then add the grated chocolate. Stir until fully melted and combined. Add the vanilla extract and remove from heat. Let the pudding cool.

  5. Assemble the Cake: Spread the cooled pudding evenly over the ganache layer on the cake, then return the cake to the freezer.

  6. Prepare the Chocolate Layer: Using the double boiler method, melt the grated chocolate with butter. Stir until smooth, then spread this mixture over the pudding layer on the cake. Return the cake to the freezer for 2 to 3 hours until well chilled.

  7. Garnish and Serve: For decoration, you can use cocoa powder, grated chocolate, or chocolate-covered candies according to your preference.
