- 2 tablespoons of soft butter
- Warm water (as needed)
For the Filling:

- 1 cup of shredded coconut
- 1 cup of ready-made syrup
- (You can substitute the filling with grated chocolate or date paste if desired)
How to Prepare Fasting Bread:
Prepare the Dough:
Sift the flour into a large, deep bowl, then add the powdered milk, white sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients, add the vegetable oil and soft butter, and gradually add warm water while kneading the mixture.
Continue kneading until you get a soft dough that does not stick to your hands. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest in a warm place for about an hour.
Prepare the Filling:
- In a suitable bowl, mix together the seedless raisins (or dried fruits), shredded coconut, and ready-made syrup until well combined.
Assemble the Bread:
Divide the dough into two equal parts. Roll each half out on a floured surface to about 2 cm thick.
Place one rolled-out dough layer into a greased baking tray, evenly spread the filling on top of the dough, then place the second rolled-out dough layer over the filling.
Brush the top of the dough with liquid milk using a pastry brush.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F), and once it reaches the desired temperature, bake the bread until the dough is fully cooked and golden.
Remove the tray from the oven and brush the top with some syrup. Garnish with a sprinkle of shredded coconut and sesame seeds.
Now your fasting bread is ready! Serve it to your family or guests and enjoy its delightful taste. Bon appétit!
