For the Dough:

  • 1/2 teaspoon of yeast.
  • 1/2 tablespoon of white sugar.
  • 6 tablespoons of warm liquid milk.
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  • 1/2 tablespoon of yogurt.
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

For the Filling:

  • 12 cubes of Gouda cheese.

For the Topping:

  • 1/4 cup of melted butter.
  • 3 cloves of minced garlic.
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh cilantro.
  • Salt (to taste).

Steps to Prepare Garlic Sponge Honeycomb Bread:

  1. Prepare the yeast mixture:

    • In a small bowl, mix the yeast, warm milk, and sugar until the yeast dissolves.
    • Cover the bowl and let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to activate the yeast.
  2. Prepare the dough:

    • In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt, and baking powder together.
    • Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture, vegetable oil, and yogurt.
    • Knead the mixture until you have a soft, smooth dough.
    • Lightly oil a bowl, place the dough in it, and cover. Let it rest for about an hour until it doubles in size.
  3. Form the dough balls:

    • Divide the dough into 12 small balls. Place a cube of Gouda cheese inside each ball and seal it well.
