- Vegetable oil (as needed for frying)
For the Filling:
- 500 grams of minced meat
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup of finely chopped parsley (you can substitute it with chopped celery)
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon of curry powder
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
How to Prepare Kibbeh Potatoes with Curry:
Boil the potatoes in a pot filled with water until they are cooked but not too soft. Remove from heat and peel them.
Mash the potatoes in a bowl using a fork, adding turmeric and salt, and mix until well combined.
For the Filling:
Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat, add the chopped onion, and sauté until softened.
Add the minced meat, stirring occasionally until the meat is fully cooked and well mixed.
Add the curry powder, salt, and turmeric to the meat mixture and stir until all the ingredients are well combined.
Stir in the chopped parsley (or celery) and cook for another two minutes. Remove from heat and let the filling cool slightly.
Assembling the Kibbeh:
Form the mashed potato mixture into small discs and create a hole in the center of each disc.
Place a spoonful of the meat filling into the center of each disc, then close the disc to form a sealed patty.
Heat enough oil in a deep pan for frying over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low.
Fry the kibbeh patties, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown on all sides.
Remove the patties from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Your Kibbeh Potatoes with Curry is now ready to serve! Serve hot to your family or guests, and enjoy its rich flavor.
