Ingredients for Toast Kibbeh:

Kibbeh with Toast

  • 2 packs of soft toast bread
  • 6 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 2 cups of warm water

For the Filling:

  • 2 packs of Kiri cheese (you can substitute with chicken and onion filling or meat and onion filling if preferred)

For the Coating:

  • 4 eggs (at room temperature)
  • 3 cups of breadcrumbs

For Frying:

  • 4 cups of vegetable oil

Instructions for Preparing Toast Kibbeh:

  1. In a bowl, combine the cornstarch and warm water, stirring until the cornstarch dissolves completely.

  2. Trim the edges of the toast slices with a kitchen knife.

  3. Place the toast slices, salt, and the cornstarch-water mixture into a blender and blend well until a smooth, cohesive dough forms.

  4. Divide the dough into small, equal-sized circles.

  5. Create a small cavity in each circle and fill it with the desired amount of cheese (or alternative filling). Shape each piece into a ball or desired kibbeh shape.

  6. Repeat this process until all the dough is used.

  7. In a bowl, beat the eggs thoroughly. In a separate bowl, place the breadcrumbs.

  8. Dip each kibbeh ball first into the beaten eggs, then roll it in the breadcrumbs to coat.

  9. Heat the vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat, then fry the kibbeh balls until they become golden and crispy.

  10. Remove the fried kibbeh from the oil and place them on paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

Now your toast kibbeh is ready! Arrange on a serving plate and serve to family or guests. Enjoy its delightful taste!
