Lebanese Namoura is known for its delicious taste and high nutritional value. It’s also easy to prepare, requiring only 20 minutes for preparation and 25 minutes for baking. Ingredients for Lebanese Namoura:
- 4 cups of semolina
- 1 cup of white sugar
- 5 tablespoons of powdered milk
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 ½ cups of drinking water
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- Almonds (for garnish, as desired)
Ingredients for Syrup:
- 1 cup of drinking water
- 2 cups of white sugar
- 1 tablespoon of orange blossom water
- 1 tablespoon of rose water
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
Preparation Method for Lebanese Namoura:
Preparing the Syrup:
Place the sugar and water in a pot over medium heat and let it come to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the syrup simmer for 10 minutes until it thickens.
Remove the pot from the heat and add the orange blossom water, rose water, and lemon juice. Stir well until combined and set aside to cool completely.Preparing the Namoura:
In a large bowl, combine the semolina, sugar, baking powder, and powdered milk. Mix all the dry ingredients well until they are evenly distributed.
Gradually add the water while continuously stirring until a thick Namoura dough forms.Assembling the Namoura:
Grease a baking tray with butter and spread the Namoura mixture evenly in the tray.
Cut the dough into desired shapes and sizes inside the tray, and place one or two almonds on top of each piece.Baking the Namoura:
Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F). Once it reaches the desired temperature, place the Namoura tray in the oven and bake for 25 minutes until the top turns golden brown.Final Touch:
