Main Ingredients for Muhallabia with Biscuits:

Muhallabia with Biscuits

  • 50 pieces of biscuit fingers (ladyfingers)
  • 2 cups of milk
  • ½ teaspoon of crushed saffron
  • 1 tablespoon of rose water

Ingredients for White Muhallabia:

  • 6 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • ½ cup of cornstarch
  • ½ cup of white flour
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of rose water
  • 1 tablespoon of orange blossom water

Ingredients for Chocolate Muhallabia:

  • 100 grams of chocolate, chopped into small pieces

Garnishing Ingredients:

  • 20 pieces of finely crushed biscuit fingers

How to Prepare Muhallabia with Biscuits:

Step 1:
Start by preparing a rectangular glass or transparent Pyrex dish. In a deep bowl, mix the milk, saffron, and rose water, stirring well to combine all the ingredients.

Step 2:
Dip each biscuit finger one by one into the milk mixture, then arrange them side by side in the Pyrex dish. Continue this process until you use around 24 biscuit fingers. If you're short on time, you can simply place the biscuits in the dish and gradually pour the milk mixture over them until they soften slightly.

Step 3:
To make the white Muhallabia, take a medium-sized pot and add the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and white flour. Whisk the mixture thoroughly using a hand whisk, then place it over medium heat, stirring continuously until a smooth mixture forms. Add the butter, rose water, and orange blossom water, and continue stirring.

Step 4:
Pour one-third of the hot white Muhallabia over the layer of biscuits in the Pyrex dish. After that, repeat the process of dipping the biscuits in the milk mixture and arrange them on top of the white Muhallabia layer.

Step 5:
To make the chocolate Muhallabia, place the remaining white Muhallabia mixture over medium heat and add the chocolate pieces, stirring until you get a chocolate-flavored Muhallabia. Pour the entire chocolate Muhallabia, while still hot, over the biscuit layer in the Pyrex dish.

Step 6:
Place the Pyrex dish in the refrigerator for 60 minutes to allow the layers to set properly. After that, take it out and garnish the top by sprinkling the finely crushed biscuits evenly over the surface.

And that’s it! You’ve now prepared this delicious dessert. We hope you enjoy it!
