For the Jelly:
- 1 cup of cold water
- 2 packets of apricot-flavored jelly
For Garnishing:
- 1 packet of whipped cream
- A small piece of Qamar Al-Din for decoration
Preparation Method for Qamar Al-Din Jelly Dessert:
Preparing the Cake: Start by sifting the flour into a deep bowl, then add the baking powder and salt. Set aside.
Mixing the Wet Ingredients: In a blender, beat the eggs with the vanilla for 3 minutes. Add the sugar and continue beating for another 2 minutes until the mixture becomes light and airy.
Combining the Ingredients: Add the milk, sunflower oil, and the flour mixture into the egg mixture. Blend for 4 minutes until a smooth, uniform batter forms.
Baking the Cake: Grease a square or round cake pan with butter and sprinkle a little flour over it. Pour the cake batter into the pan. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and place the cake on the middle rack. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the cake is fully cooked. Once done, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool. Once cooled, carefully remove it from the pan.
Preparing the Qamar Al-Din Sauce: Cut the Qamar Al-Din into small pieces and soak them in 2 cups of cold water for 2 hours to soften. Once softened, blend or strain the mixture to create a smooth apricot sauce.
Making the Jelly: In a small bowl, dissolve the jelly in 1 cup of cold water by whisking with a hand whisk. Then, mix the jelly into the Qamar Al-Din sauce.
Layering the Dessert: Pour two-thirds of the Qamar Al-Din and jelly mixture into the cake pan and place it in the fridge for 2 hours until it sets. After that, place the cake on top of the jelly layer and pour the remaining jelly over the cake.
Chilling and Garnishing: Return the pan to the fridge and let it chill for several hours until fully set. Once set, flip the dessert onto a serving plate and garnish the top with whipped cream and small pieces of Qamar Al-Din.
And that’s how you make this delicious Qamar Al-Din jelly dessert! Serve it chilled and enjoy with family and friends. Bon appétit!
