Ramadan Donuts

For the Dough:

  • 400 ml of liquid milk
  • 40 grams of yeast
  • 50 ml of vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon of white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 2 eggs, well-beaten
  • 700 grams of white flour

For Decoration:

  • Powdered sugar (as desired)

How to Prepare Ramadan Donuts:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • In a suitable bowl, mix the liquid milk, white sugar, and yeast. Stir the ingredients well using a hand whisk until combined.
  2. Add half of the flour and mix again.

  3. Pour in the vegetable oil, beaten eggs, and salt, and whisk until the ingredients are well blended.

  4. Add the remaining flour and knead the mixture by hand. (If the dough is still soft and sticky, you can add a bit more flour.)

  5. Sprinkle a small amount of flour on the surface of the dough, cover it with a cloth, and let it rest in a warm place for about 60 minutes until it doubles in size.

  6. Shape the Dough:

    • Dust a clean surface with flour and roll out the dough with a rolling pin until it's about 1 cm thick.
  7. Use a cookie cutter in your preferred shape (crescent, star, circle) to cut the dough into shapes.

  8. Cover the cut dough pieces with a cloth and let them rest for about 30 minutes.

  9. Frying the Donuts:

    • Heat a generous amount of oil in a deep pot over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, fry the dough pieces until golden brown on both sides.
  10. Remove the donuts and let them cool. Once cooled, sprinkle a suitable amount of powdered sugar over the top.

Your Ramadan Donuts are now ready! Serve them to your family or guests and enjoy their delicious flavor. Bon appétit!
