Ingredients for Rural Milk Bread:
- 3 cups of white flour.
- ¼ teaspoon of salt.
- 1 tablespoon of instant yeast.
- 1 tablespoon of white sugar.
- 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds.
- 2 tablespoons of anise seeds.
- 1 cup of vegetable oil.
- ¼ cup of ghee (clarified butter).
- Warm liquid milk (as needed for kneading).
Method of Preparation:
Step 1: Preparing the Dough
Sift the white flour into a suitable bowl. Add the white sugar, salt, and yeast, then mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
In a separate pan, toast the sesame seeds over heat until lightly golden, then add them to the flour mixture and stir to combine.
Make a well in the center of the mixture and add the ghee and vegetable oil. Mix everything together until well incorporated.
Step 2: Kneading the Dough
Gradually pour in the warm liquid milk, kneading the mixture continuously until you obtain a smooth and elastic dough.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in a warm area for about 60 minutes, allowing the dough to rise and double in size.
Step 3: Shaping the Bread
Once the dough has risen, spread some flour on a clean surface. Roll out the dough and shape it into flat discs. Place the discs on a greased baking tray.
Step 4: Baking the Bread
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Once the oven reaches the desired temperature, place the baking tray inside and bake the bread for about 20-25 minutes, or until the discs are golden and cooked through.
Step 5: Serving
Remove the tray from the oven and transfer the bread to a serving plate.
Your rural milk bread is now ready to be served. Enjoy it with your family or guests for a delicious and wholesome treat.
Bon appétit!
