Meat Marinade:

  • 1 kg of beef, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon of ginger powder

Sauce Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of water
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon of mixed spices

Vegetable Ingredients:

  • 1 medium-sized red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium-sized onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

For Garnishing:

  • Chopped green onions (as desired)
  • Toasted sesame seeds (as desired)

How to Prepare Sichuan Beef:

  1. Marinate the Beef:

    • Place the beef strips in a bowl. Add the soy sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, hot sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, and ginger powder.
    • Mix all the ingredients well until the beef is fully coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 3 hours.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a separate bowl, mix the oyster sauce, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, rice vinegar, hot sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and mixed spices. Stir well and set aside.
  3. Cook the Beef:

    • Heat a pot over medium heat. Add the marinated beef strips and cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef changes color on all sides. Remove the beef from the pot and set it aside.
  4. Cook the Vegetables:

    • In the same pot, add a little vegetable oil and heat it. Add the sliced onion, red bell pepper, and minced garlic. Stir the vegetables until they soften.
    • Add the grated ginger and stir again until well combined.
  5. Combine the Beef and Sauce:

    • Return the cooked beef to the pot and stir for 5 minutes to blend with the vegetables.
    • Pour the prepared sauce into the pot and continue stirring for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Serve:

    • Remove the pot from the heat and transfer the Sichuan beef to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
