Stuffed Chicken – Recipe for Stuffed Chicken – How to Prepare Stuffed Chicken

Stuffed chicken is known for its delicious taste and the high nutritional value of its ingredients. In this article, we will present the ingredients needed for six people along with the preparation method, hoping you will enjoy this special dish.

Ingredients for Stuffed Chicken:

  • 1 whole medium-sized chicken
  • 2 cups of Egyptian rice
  • 250 grams of beef liver
  • 250 grams of chicken gizzards
  • ½ cup of raisins
  • 1 tablespoon of ghee
  • ½ cup of pine nuts
  • Water as needed
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Mixed spices to taste
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 5 cardamom pods
  • Vegetable oil as needed

Ingredients for the Top:

  • 3 medium-sized onions, sliced into rings
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of ghee

How to Prepare Stuffed Chicken:

  1. Heat the ghee with a small amount of vegetable oil in a suitable pot over medium heat until the ghee melts. Add the gizzards and liver, stirring occasionally until they are fully cooked.

  2. Add the salt, mixed spices, black pepper, cinnamon, and sugar, and stir the ingredients until well combined.

  3. Add the rice along with the hot water and stir the mixture well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.

  4. Once the mixture starts boiling, lower the heat and allow the rice to cook until done.

  5. Remove the pot from the heat and stuff the chicken with half of the prepared mixture.

  6. Secure the chicken using kitchen twine and wrap it in aluminum foil.

  7. In another pot, add water, cardamom pods, bay leaves, onions, black pepper, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  8. Add the stuffed chicken to the boiling water, reduce the heat to low, and let it simmer for about 60 minutes until fully cooked.

For the Top:

  1. Heat some oil in a pot over medium heat, then add the onion rings, stirring occasionally until they soften.

  2. Add black pepper, salt, and flour, stirring until the mixture is golden.

  3. Remove the chicken from the boiling water and place it in a baking tray. Brush the surface with ghee.

  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F), then place the tray in the oven until the chicken becomes golden and crispy.

  5. Serve the remaining rice on a serving plate, place the roasted chicken in the center, and top with the sautéed onions, raisins, and pine nuts.
