Tiramisu Dessert – How to Prepare Tiramisu

Tiramisu, originally called "Tirami sù" in Italian, translates literally to "lift me up" and figuratively to "cheer me up." This dessert contains caffeine from coffee, providing a boost of energy along with the sugar it contains, which stimulates the nervous system and enhances alertness.

One serving of tiramisu contains about 301 calories and 25 grams of fat, making it a favorite among both children and adults for its softness and easy digestion.

This recipe serves four people and takes around 30 minutes to prepare.

Main Ingredients for Tiramisu:

Tiramisu Dessert

  • 1 pack of Chantilly cream
  • ½ cup of cow’s milk
  • 2 packs of plain biscuits (ladyfingers or similar)
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 5 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 150 grams of Philadelphia cream cheese (or any cream cheese)
  • ½ cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of instant espresso coffee

How to Prepare Tiramisu:

The preparation of tiramisu consists of eight steps:

Step 1:
Start by dipping the biscuits into a mixture of coffee and cocoa powder (using the amounts mentioned above) combined with water. Line half of the dipped biscuits at the bottom of the serving dish.

Step 2:
In a bowl, mix the vanilla, cream, and sugar. Whisk them well using cold water with either a hand whisk or an electric mixer, depending on what you have available.

Step 3:
Add the Philadelphia cream cheese and milk to the mixture, stirring until all the ingredients are well combined. This process should take around 4–5 minutes.

Step 4:
Next, add some of the coffee and cocoa mixture to the cream mixture and stir until everything is well blended.

Step 5:
Divide the final mixture into two parts. Spread one part over the biscuits you arranged earlier in the dish.

Step 6:
Arrange the second layer of biscuits (dipped in the coffee and cocoa mixture) over the cream layer. Then, spread the remaining cream mixture on top.

Step 7:
Sprinkle the remaining cocoa powder over the top layer. You can also garnish with chocolate pieces, candy-coated chocolate, fruit slices, or nuts, depending on your preference. Leave the tiramisu in the fridge for 7 to 8 hours to set.

Step 8:
Serve the tiramisu cold and only take it out of the fridge right before serving.

Enjoy this delicious dessert! You can also drizzle caramel sauce over each serving for an extra touch.

Bon appétit! We hope you enjoy the tiramisu.
