- 1 teaspoon of salt.
- 2 tablespoons of sugar.
- 1 tablespoon of yeast.
- 1 cup of room-temperature milk.
- 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt.
- 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil.

- ½ teaspoon of baking powder.
For the Filling:
- Za'atar (amount as needed).
- Olive oil (amount as needed).
For Brushing the Rolls:
- 1 egg.
- 1 tablespoon of milk.
- 1 teaspoon of vinegar.
Preparation Method for Za'atar Rolls:
In a small pot, warm the milk and yogurt over low heat until lukewarm. Remove from heat and add the yeast, sugar, and vinegar, stirring to activate the yeast.
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the milk mixture and oil, then knead until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
Shape the dough into a ball, lightly coat it with oil, place it in a greased bowl, and cover it to let it rise.
For the filling, mix the za'atar with olive oil to make a spreadable mixture.
Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape on a lightly floured surface. Spread the za'atar and olive oil mixture evenly over the dough.
Roll the dough tightly into a log, then cut it into equal-sized rolls.
In a small bowl, mix the egg, milk, and vinegar for brushing. Brush this mixture onto the surface of each roll and allow them to rise slightly.
Grease a baking tray with a bit of oil, then place the za'atar rolls on the tray.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Once heated, bake the rolls until golden brown.
Once done, remove the rolls from the oven, arrange them on a serving plate, and enjoy with family or guests. Bon appétit!
