- 2 large eggplants, sliced

How to Prepare Moussaka with Meat, Eggplant, and Béchamel:
Prepare the Eggplant:
- Sprinkle the eggplant slices with salt and black pepper.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet and fry the eggplant slices until golden and tender.
- Place the fried eggplant slices on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Prepare the Meat Filling:
- In the same skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and onions, sautéing until the onions are soft and translucent.
