  • 8 tomatoes.
  • 1 400-gram can of diced tomatoes.
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil.
  • 2 teaspoons of salt.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper.
  • 1 egg, whisked.
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce.
  • 1.5 kilograms (about 3.3 pounds) of ground beef.
  • 1 1/2 cups of cooked long-grain rice.
  • Shredded cheddar cheese for topping.

How to Prepare Stuffed Bell Peppers with Ground Beef and Rice:

  1. Prepare the Bell Peppers:

    • Slice the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds.
    • Wash them under cold water and set the tops aside.
    • Place the peppers in a large pot, submerge them in salted water, and bring to a boil.
    • Cover the pot and let the peppers simmer for 5 minutes.
    • Drain the peppers and set them aside.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:

    • Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Chop the reserved tops of the peppers and add them to the skillet along with the onion and celery.
    • Stir until softened and well combined.
