  • 200 grams of flour.
  • 4 cups of cold water.
  • 100 grams of liquid milk.
  • Baking parchment paper.
  • Dry beans or other pie weights.

For the Filling:

  • 200 grams of tuna.
  • 125 grams of boiled peas.
  • 1 egg.
  • 200 ml of milk.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Black pepper to taste.
  • A pinch of paprika.

How to Prepare Tuna Pie:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl.
    • Gradually add the cold water while kneading by hand until you form a cohesive ball of dough.
    • Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes to rise.
  2. Roll and Shape the Dough:

    • On a floured surface, roll out the dough using a rolling pin to a thickness of 1 cm.
    • Transfer the rolled dough to a baking tray, ensuring it covers the bottom and sides evenly.
    • Place the tray in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to chill.
  3. Pre-Bake the Dough:

    • Remove the dough from the refrigerator and prick it all over with a fork.
    • Cover the dough with parchment paper and add dry beans or pie weights on top to prevent it from rising during baking.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for 10 minutes.
  4. Assemble the Pie:

    • Remove the pre-baked crust from the oven and spread the tuna and boiled peas evenly over it.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk the egg with the milk, then pour the mixture over the tuna and peas.
    • Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and paprika over the top.
  5. Bake the Pie:

    • Return the pie to the oven and bake for approximately 40 minutes until the filling is set and the crust is golden.
