- 1 teaspoon of salt.
- 1 teaspoon of fish seasoning.
Sauce Ingredients:
- 1 large tomato.
- 1 tablespoon of tomato paste.
- 1 medium-sized onion, sliced.
- 4 cloves of garlic.
- 1 tablespoon of ghee.
- 1 teaspoon of salt.
- 1 teaspoon of mixed spices.
How to Prepare Iraqi Masgouf
Preparing the Fish:
- Place the fish fillets in a large baking tray. Brush them with olive oil and sprinkle with fish seasoning, cumin, and salt.
- Spread the minced garlic evenly over the fish. Arrange the lemon slices on top.
- Let the fish marinate for at least 6 hours to absorb the flavors.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F). Once heated, bake the fish for about 30 minutes.
Preparing the Sauce:
- Blend the garlic and tomato in a food processor until smooth.
