Ingredients:

Lasagna Bolognese with Béchamel

 

For the Lasagna:

  • 250 grams of lasagna sheets.
  • ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.

For the Bolognese Sauce:

  • 350 grams of coarsely minced beef.
  • 5 cloves of garlic, sliced thinly.
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
  • ½ teaspoon of salt.
  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper.
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste dissolved in 1 cup of water.

For the Béchamel Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons of butter.
  • ½ cup of finely chopped onion.
  • 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour.
  • 1 beef stock cube.
  • 3 cups of milk.
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon.

Preparation Steps:

1. Preparing the Bolognese Sauce:

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the garlic slices and sauté until golden.
  3. Add the minced beef, salt, black pepper, and ground cinnamon. Cook until the beef is browned.
  4. Pour the diluted tomato paste over the beef mixture.
  5. Simmer on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.

2. Preparing the Béchamel Sauce:

  1. In a blender, combine the milk, beef stock cube, and flour. Blend until smooth.
  2. Melt the butter in a pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden.
  3. Pour the milk mixture into the pot and add the ground cinnamon.
  4. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.

3. Assembling the Lasagna:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
  2. Spread a thin layer of béchamel sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  3. Place a layer of lasagna sheets over the sauce.
  4. Spread one-third of the Bolognese sauce over the lasagna, followed by a layer of béchamel sauce.
  5. Repeat the layers to create two complete layers.
  6. Add a final layer of lasagna sheets on top. Cover with the remaining béchamel sauce and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.

4. Baking the Lasagna:

  1. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven.
  2. Bake for approximately 35 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbling.
