  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon black seed (Nigella seeds)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup sugar syrup (cold)

Instructions for Preparing Saudi Kamaj Dessert:

  1. Prepare the Batter:

    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the yogurt and eggs using an electric hand mixer until well combined.
    • Add the vanilla extract and black seed, and continue mixing until fully incorporated.
  2. Incorporate Dry Ingredients:

    • Sift the flour and baking powder into the wet mixture. Mix gently until a smooth and uniform batter forms.
  3. Prepare the Baking Pan:

    • Grease a baking pan with the butter. Pour the batter evenly into the pan.
  4. Bake the Kamaj:

    • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil. Add the lemon juice, orange blossom water, and rose water.
  3. Let it simmer until the syrup thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let it cool completely before use.
