Chicken Musakhan is one of the easiest chicken dishes to prepare, requiring only 15 minutes for preparation and 30 minutes for cooking.   • 6 pieces of skinless, boneless chicken breasts.
  • ½ tablespoon of sumac.
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  • ½ teaspoon of table salt.
  • ½ teaspoon of ground black pepper.
  • 1 lemon, juiced.
  • 1 medium-sized onion, thinly sliced.
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • 4 tablespoons of water.
  • 2 large pieces of Arabic bread.

Steps to Prepare Chicken Musakhan

  1. Prepare the Seasoning Mix:
    In a suitable bowl, mix the sumac, lemon juice, cinnamon, black pepper, and salt until well combined.

  2. Marinate the Chicken:
    Coat the chicken pieces with the seasoning mix, ensuring they are well covered. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to develop.

  3. Cook the Onions:
    Heat the olive oil in a suitable pot over medium heat, then add the onion slices. Stir until the onions become soft and translucent.

  4. Combine Ingredients:
    Pour the water over the chicken and seasoning mixture, then add the cooked onions with the olive oil. Mix everything until well combined. Cover the pot and let it sit aside for about 20 minutes.

  5. Prepare the Baking Dish:
    Line a suitable baking tray with parchment paper. Place the Arabic bread on the tray, then spread the chicken mixture on top, adding a bit of the broth for extra flavor.

  6. Bake the Dish:
    Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Once the oven reaches the desired temperature, place the tray inside and bake until the bread becomes crispy.
