- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered milk
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Ingredients for the Fillings:
First Filling:
- Half a boiled and shredded chicken
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cabbage leaves, finely chopped
- 1 grated carrot
- Chopped cilantro
- A pinch of black pepper and paprika
- A pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
Second Filling:
- Feta cheese or labneh (strained yogurt) with olive slices
- Green onions, sliced
- Finely chopped fresh cilantro
Third Filling:
- Mortadella
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- A small amount of mayonnaise
- Mustard
Steps to Prepare Cones with Various Fillings:
1. Prepare the Dough:
Begin by making the dough. In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients first. Then, add the oil and water, and start kneading, or use a stand mixer for about 7 minutes. Once done, let the dough rest for 15 minutes in a warm place to rise.
2. Prepare the Fillings:
- For the first filling, mix all the vegetables except cilantro and sauté them in a little vegetable oil. Add the chicken, garlic, salt, and spices, and stir until fully cooked. Remove from heat, let it cool slightly, then add cheese and cilantro. This filling is now ready to use.
- For the second filling, cut the cheese into cubes and slice the green onions. Alternatively, you can mix labneh with olive slices and finely chopped cilantro. Mix everything well to make the filling.
- For the third filling, shred the mortadella, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella. Add a small amount of mayonnaise and mustard, mix thoroughly, and your filling is ready.
3. Shape and Bake the Cones:
After the dough has risen, roll it out with a rolling pin and cut it into long strips about 3 cm wide. Wrap each strip around a stainless steel cone mold, and repeat for the remaining dough. Brush the cones with a mixture of powdered milk and a little water, then cover them and let them rest for 20 minutes.
Place the cones on a baking tray and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Remove them from the oven, fill them with the prepared fillings, and arrange them on a serving plate. Decorate the plate with some lettuce and shredded cabbage for a final touch.
Enjoy your delicious cones with various fillings!
Bon appétit!
