  • 5 hard-boiled eggs
  • ¼ teaspoon of black pepper
  • Salt to taste

For the pastry:

  • 4 sheets of gelatin
  • 2 teaspoons of yeast
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ cup of butter
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 5 cups of flour

Additional:

  • 1 bouillon cube
  • 1 egg (for brushing)

How to Prepare Meat and Egg Pastry:

Step 1: Prepare the filling

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground meat with the chopped sage, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Step 2: Prepare the dough

  1. In another bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, butter, and milk. Knead the mixture until a smooth dough forms.
  2. Cover the dough and let it rest for a while.

Step 3: Assemble the pastry

  1. Roll out two-thirds of the dough and use it to line a baking dish, leaving the edges hanging slightly over the sides.
  2. Spread half of the meat mixture evenly on the bottom of the dish.
  3. Arrange the boiled eggs in a row over the meat mixture.
  4. Cover the eggs with the remaining meat mixture.

Step 4: Seal the pastry

  1. Roll out the remaining dough and place it over the filling. Seal the edges well.
  2. Use a round cutter to make a small hole in the center of the top layer of dough, removing the cut piece.
  3. Brush the top of the pastry with a beaten egg.

Step 5: Bake the pastry

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and bake the pastry for 30 minutes.
  2. Lower the heat to 180°C (350°F) and bake for an additional 1 hour and 15 minutes until fully cooked.

Step 6: Prepare the gelatin topping

  1. Soak the gelatin sheets in cold water until softened.
  2. Dissolve the bouillon cube in boiling water, then stir in the gelatin until fully dissolved.
  3. Let the broth cool slightly and pour it into the hole in the pastry.

Step 7: Chill and serve

  1. Refrigerate the pastry until the gelatin sets.
  2. Remove from the fridge, slice, and serve.
