Instructions for Preparing Lebanese Sfouf:

Step 1: Combine Dry Ingredients

  1. Sift the semolina, flour, turmeric powder, and baking powder into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the sugar to the dry ingredients and mix until evenly combined.

Step 2: Add Wet Ingredients

  1. Pour the milk and vegetable oil into the dry mixture.
  2. Mix the ingredients well using a hand whisk until you achieve a smooth and cohesive batter.

Step 3: Prepare the Baking Pan

  1. Lightly grease a square or rectangular baking pan with tahini to prevent sticking.
  2. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.

Step 4: Garnish and Bake

  1. Sprinkle pine nuts generously over the top of the batter.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  3. Place the pan in the middle rack of the oven and bake for approximately 50 minutes, or until the cake is fully cooked and the top turns a golden color.
