  • 500 grams of ground beef
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • ¼ teaspoon of black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cardamom
  • ¼ cup of red bell pepper, diced
  • ¼ cup of yellow bell pepper, diced
  • ¼ cup of green bell pepper, diced
  • Melted butter to brush on top of the Hawawshi (as needed)

How to Prepare Alexandrian Hawawshi:

  1. In a deep pan, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and the diced bell peppers. Stir the mixture until the vegetables soften.
